Definition of Webcolct

Webcolct Definition from Computer & Internet Dictionaries & Glossaries
Microsoft Windows Task List Programs Glossary by SRP
Webcolct.exe
(Logitech)
Background task installed with the Logitech MouseWare 9.x software and which drives the web wheel in the middle of the mouse (this "web wheel" is called the "scroll button" or "scroll wheel" by other mouse manufacturers). As with most Logitech mouse software, however, MouseWare provides additional bells and whistles such as the ability to click on the web wheel in order to bring up an on-screen choice of user programmed "quick access" websites, as well as Internet Explorer options.
Recommendation :
MouseWare software, whether from Logitech or not, is only necessary on Windows 95 and Windows 98 PCs. If you have Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium Edition, or any later version of Windows (e.g. 2000, XP), then support for the web wheel is integral to Windows and you do not need to install the MouseWare software. If you already have it installed, and never use the "bells and whistles", then you may wish to consider de-installing MouseWare via "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel.
